Leisure Suit Larry
Go back to Sierra On-Line, Inc.
Meet Larry. He's just turned 40, and he's still single. If you can
get past the glow of his Grecian formula, you can see his hairline
beginning to make a hasty retreat from his forehead. Larry's
leisure suit is of the highest quality (100% manmade material,
permanent press too!). He wears at least 11 gold chains and his
freshly-capped teeth could blind you in a bright light. Down at
the singles bar he tells all the chicks, "Sure, I'm single... I
got in a fight with my ol' lady and she threw me out." He doesn't
tell them the "ol' lady" was his mom, or that he was 38 at the
time.
Leisure Suit Larry I: In the Land of the Lounge Lizards
Type: Moving character graphics/Text input/Music
Written 1987 by Al Lowe, Scott Murphy and Mark Crowe [graphics].
Runs on:
Notes: This is based on the game Softporn Adventure by Chuck Benton.
It includes a 12-page manual and a Lefty's napkin. The PC
version comes on two 5 1/4" disks and one 3 1/2" disk.
Package blurb: Become the loveable nerd Larry for one fabulous night. You'll
dance. You'll drink. You'll gamble. And, if you play your
cards right, you might even meet the girl (or girls) of your
dreams.
Leisure Suit Larry is a humorous, harmless endeavor for
adults. The object of the game is to help Larry overcome his
jerkisms and lose his "you-know-what." It's a silly, risque
romp through the singles scene and a challenging adventure
game that will test your street smarts and suave
sophistication. So, slip into your leisure suit and venture
out into "the land of the lounge lizards." We guarantee it'll
be a night you will never forget.
Leisure Suit Larry I: In the Land of the Lounge Lizards (enhanced version)
Type: Moving character graphics/Music
Written 1991.
Runs on:
Notes: This is the same game as the above, but with improved graphics.
This version takes up 4 disks instead of the original 1. [Amiga]
Leisure Suit Larry Goes Looking for Love (In Several Wrong Places) / Leisure Suit Larry II
Type: Moving character graphics/Text input/Music
Written 1988 by Al Lowe.
Runs on:
Notes: Package includes a 14 page manual featuring the phone numbers
and pictures of 16 girls (the copy protection).
The PC comes version on six 5 1/4" disks and three 3 1/2"
disks.
Comments: Larry gets tracked by the KGB in LA, a cruise, a nudist beach,
an airport, a crowded flight, and an Amazonian
jungle-cum-island resort after accidentally (and cluelessly)
gaining posession of an onklunk musical instrument containing
a top secret microfiche. Of course, as Larry, it's up to you
to save the world from Dr. Nonookee and find the native island
girl of your dreams and marry her, all amidst a subquest to
grow better hair than Minoxodil.
Package blurb: On cruise ships, in laid back Los Angeles and in other exotic
locations, Larry is suddenly attracting the attention of all
kinds of nubile nymphettes. He's been propositioned by a
bikini'd babe at the poop-deck pool, suffered the seductions
of a sadomasochistic spinster, even played "hide the onklunk"
with a sexy Spanish senorita. Why is it that some of the
loveliest ladies in the western hemisphere are so hot to get
their hands on Larry - and why is he resisting their
advances? Why is it that Larry has suddenly started looking
only for Miss "Right" (as opposed to Miss "Right-Now") and
will he find her? Find out when you play... Looking for Love
(in several wrong places).
Leisure Suit Larry III: Passionate Patti in Pursuit of the Pulsating Pectorals
Type: Moving character graphics/Text input/Music
Written 1989 by Al Lowe [story, programming] and Carlos Escobar [programming].
Runs on:
Notes: Package includes a 24-page "NonToonyt Island" magazine and a
postcard from the Island of NonToonyt featuring a drawing of
Larry and Patti.
The PC version comes on eight 5 1/4" disks and four 3 1/2"
disks.
Comments: Game starts off with lovable Larry getting dumped by the "girl
of his dreams" from the end of the last game (who converts to
lesbianism) and his subsequent firing from the company job by
the girl's father. Left on his own, Larry is back to square
one until he meets lounge singer Patti.
Patti's more adventure-oriented section (which includes her
getting herself into all kinds of down and dirty
outdoorsmanship) features an arcade game where you must
successfully row yourself down a river while avoiding
obstacles. You'll never guess where Larry and Patti end up.
Package blurb: Are you a smooth, suave, single guy on the make, or maybe you
fancy yourself the sleek, sexy femme fatale? Whoever you are,
get ready for a look at the other side of life. In Sierra's
latest 3-D adventure, Lesiure Suit Larry III: Passionate
Patti in Pursuit of the Pulsating Pectorals, you're BOTH!
Leisure Suit Larry III is the first Sierra game ever to allow
you to switch roles and see the story from another point of
view. In our first ever role-switching adventure, you'll
experience a new dimension of computer adventure. Become
Larry, trying to find himself in the jungle of NonToonyt
Island, and Passionate Patti, searching for the man of her
dreams (who seems to have dropped off the face of the earth).
Leisure Suit Larry V: Passionate Patti Does a Little Undercover Work
Type: Moving character graphics/Point-n-Click/Music
Written 1991 by Al Lowe and Craig Safan [music].
Runs on:
Notes: The author swore after completing part III that he would never
write part IV. The joke behind the skipping of Part 4 is
explained through several references to Leisure Suit Larry 4:
The Missing Floppies. Larry begins Part 5 with partial amnesia
about what happened during his last sequel (not to mention
with Patti).
The 16-colour PC version comes on four 5 1/4" disks, the
256-colour PC version on eleven 5 1/4" disks.
The package includes a 14-page Playspy magazine with a
Passionate Patti centrefold, an Aerodork Airlines travel
schedule brochure, and a 32-page Sierra Game Manual.
It is also available in Spanish.
Comments: Leisure Suit Larry's graphic style received a serious
overhauling in this game, to the point of employing a silly,
cartoony sense of drawing that certainly manages to kill the
mood, if nothing else.
Package blurb: SEX, THUGS AND ROCK 'N ROLL. They're back in their silliest,
sexiest adventure ever. Larry teams up with Passionate Patti
for a rollicking gender-bending romp through the sleazy
underside of the underworld
SWITCH SEXES ON THE FLY. Yes, every time you take a plane
ride, you'll switch back and forth between Larry and Patti.
Double the trouble, double the fun!
IT'S LARRY & PATTI vs. A GALLERY OF GOONS. Passionate Patti
is a fledging spy for the FBI, sent to ferret out corruption
in the music industry. Larry, cult-hero of the computer age
and certified fashion disaster, is auditioning hostesses for
TV's syndicated steam-fest, America's Sexiest Home Videos,
But watch out! The Mob wants to get pornography off the air
and back onto their balance sheet. Help Larry and Patti take
on organized crime, the FBI, and the Citizens Against Nearly
Everything in their spiciest computer caper yet.
Leisure Suit Larry VI: Shape Up or Slip Out
Type: Moving character graphics/Point-n-Click/Music
Written 1993 by Al Lowe.
Runs on:
Notes: Released on both CD and disk. The CD version has better
graphics, more points and Larry's voice. The CD version
includes a 35-page Sierra Game Manual and a fold-out insert in
the jewel case. The PC version comes on one CD. This is also
available in French.
Comments: Game is basically a rehash of the first game with elements of
the second thrown in. The plot is nonexistant.
Package blurb: As a consolation prize for his humiliating performance on a
TV dating show, Larry wins two weeks at the fabulous La Costa
Lotta Spa (first prize one week!). Surrounded by nine smart,
savvy, beautiful women, Larry will surely meet Ms. Right.
Right? WRONG!
Leisure Suit Larry VII: Love for Sail
Type: Moving character graphics
Runs on:
Leisure Suit Larry 15th Anniversary Collector's Edition
Written 1995.
Notes: This collection is not entirely certain that it should be
under Larry, it might be one of the other series that don't
have a 15th anniversary collection. It came in a green box,
similar to the ones for King's Quest and Space Quest.
Leisure Suit Larry's Greatest Hits and Misses

Written 1996.
Runs on:
