Virgin Games The Virgin Group was founded by Richard Branson who is also the owner. In mid-1987, Virgin bought about half of Mastertronic from an investment group. The rest of the company was acquired from the original founders in 1988. One of the reasons for Virgin to buy Mastertronic was probably to get at the Sega distribution that Mastertronic had.
